Landfill Gas is extracted and flared from this operational fully engineered landfill site. Devine and Associates were appointed to upgrade the gas collection infrastructure and supply install, commission, operate and maintain a new enclosed landfill gas flare.

Client: Fermanagh and Omagh District Council

Phase 1
Devine and Associates supplied and installed five landfill gas extraction wells of varying depths.

Phase 2
The company designed, installed and commissioned a cost effective gas management scheme including gas piping, pumped condensate system and foundation design for a new flare.

Phase 3
A new enclosed 750 m3/h flare was supplied, installed, commissioned and is being operated and maintained by Devine and Associates.

Phase 4
The company supplied and installed power generation equipment which was connected to the landfill gas pipe work. Commissioning and load testing of the equipment was undertaken including electrical protection and G59 testing. Devine and Associates continue to manage, operate and maintain the project selling the electricity and the ROC (ROC’s). The project has been operating successfully since commissioning was completed in 2014.

Construction Quality Assurance (CQA)
Devine and Associates prepared the CQA plans, provided construction supervision and quality assurance, and prepared the CQA validation reports on completion for NIEA.

Project Management
The company provided overall project management including Health and Safety and conforming with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.
